“The word Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word "Yuj" meaning to yoke, join or unite. This implies joining or integrating all aspects of the individual - body with mind and mind with soul. The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind & the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life.” ~ B.K.S. Iyengar. Personally, what is Yoga to you is what’s more important and it’s something that only you can define, weather it's something that brings more awareness to your life or the scientific perfect union with oneself or the pure act of taking down a coconut from a palm tree with full awareness.

                                     Me & Yoga

It all started almost 10 years ago when I was studying film making and we had a Yoga class so we could learn how to move with the camera in hand. From that moment on it was love at first sight, and right away I found my first and all time favorite teacher, Jill Sawchuk from Canada.  I remember I even went twice a day to class, I could not get enough! I was her only students because she was just barely starting her own business in Mexico. So I had the privilege of having private classes with her for a month…. I learned A LOT. One day she said “Ale I had a vision that you will become a Yoga teacher” I laughed and said, “No way, I want to be a filmmaker”, she only smiled back. Then she got happily married and left town. From there on my search began. I tried all types of teachers, styles, colors and flavors. I left all my studies to really focus on courses that had to do with the wisdom of the body.

Now when I teach yoga people come after the class and ask me “what type of yoga is this?” and not knowing what to answer,  I just say “It's Guacamole Yoga”, hahaha.

Through this amazing journey I’ve found the most inspiring Amazing teachers and thanks to them my path has only gotten much brighter. My deepest gratitude to all of you.
